Description
Goldenrod extracts are made from a wildflower member of the Aster plant family and Solidago genus. You may know this plant by its characteristic bright, sunny flowers that are showy in fall. Solidago derives from Latin for Solidus which means “to make whole.” The name itself belies the many healing properties of the plant. This lovely wildflower may be used for therapeutic value and to support the body’s natural processes. It has astringent properties and a drying effect both internally and externally.
May be used to reduce inflammation, relieve muscle spasms, fight infections, and lower blood pressure. Goldenrod may act as a diuretic to increase urination and reduce swelling in uterine tract inflammation.
Externally, goldenrod can be used to assist with infection and wound healing.
